この研究の本旨は、近代東京における水車研究のための基礎資料として「水車台帳」を作成することと、この基礎資料に基づいて水車産業の地域分布をまとめることにある。 『水車台帳』を作成するにあたっては、現在東京都公文書館が所蔵している 多数の水車に関する申請類をもとにした。 当該期の水車は精米や製粉用だけでなく、紡績水車や伸銅水車などが東京の各地に広がっていたことを確認できた。 We made the following an objective of this research: the development of a “waterwheel database” as basic information for studies regarding waterwheels in Tokyo in modern times, and the summarization of the distribution of waterwheel industries based on the basic information above. In developing the waterwheel database, we studied many application documents concerning waterwheels which are now stored at the Tokyo Metropolitan Archives. This study reveals that in the days of their common use, waterwheels were used in all of Tokyo , not only for rice and flour milling, but also as spinning machinery and copper rolling machinery. |
