Water Cycle and Children's Play: The Connection between Nature and Society and Its Value - Toward Watershed Partnerships for Nature Conservation Management in the Tama River Basin

Recently, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport, and Tourism (MLIT) in Japan has commenced several projects that focus on watershed-based management and environmental education for children. Nevertheless, efforts to create Watershed-Scale Partnerships have faced difficulties in its sustainability and development. In this study, focusing on the water cycle and children's play, first clarifies how the nature of Tama River is connected to each local community by using Participatory Action Research Methodology. Then, while creating opportunities to identify the value created from these connections with the actors involved, we will discuss the nature of watershed partnerships.
