Summary

Microbial ecosystems are the basis of element cycles and related to problems in Tama river such as foul odors and pollution.

Therefore, we analyzed the effects of wastewater and seasonality on the microbial ecosystem by a microbial ecosystem model in the Tama river, where the treated wastewater reaches 50% of the total water amount in the downstream.

For constructing the model, at first, we quantified microbial contingency in Tama river, which causes unpredictability.

Then, we confirmed what causes the cintingency by in-silico and ex-situ experiments.

In addition, we evaluated which bacteria increased and decreased due to the treated wastewater and seasonal changes.
