Summary

Tamagawa waterways has been taken from Hamura on the Tama River, passed through the ridges of the Musashino Plateau, and flowed to Yotsuya Okido by an open culvert., from there it became a culvert as an urban water supply.

Some of them naturally flow down the Sotobori, Kanda, and Nihonbashi rivers, and have contributed to maintaining a good water environment in central Edo and Tokyo.

In addition, the water is divided in a mesh pattern, and the nature, history and culture peculiar to Musashino have been nurtured.

Currently, these water flows are being divided and disrupted, but the water cycle based on Tamagawa waterways are important for building a sustainable city, and its remains are found in various places.

In this paper, in order to conserve and regenerate the remains related to the Tamagawa waterways network, 100 remains selected with many citizens are organized based on the concept of "ecomuseum".

In addition, we have created the diversion network and the distribution of the remains map and a basic textbook for citizens to work on conservation and regeneration.
