Summary

In this research, we have been working on collecting data on the network of branched waterways from Tamagawa Josui (approximately 50km in length) with nine diversion water channels which is nine existing branch channels independently for several years.

Therefore, this time, we conducted a field survey to grasp the present conditions and actual conditions of the waterway structure, wall conditions, forms of use, remains, vegetation and living environment, surrounding environment, etc.

Each diversion channel is combined with the specific information obtained by observation, photography, and even interviews basically every 500m, and a survey record is created as a "Survey report of the network of branched waterways," and is newly compiled as map information.

The information for each survey point was integrated using GIS(Geographic lnformation System), which enables multi-faceted analysis of each diversion in the future.

Based on the above basic environmental survey, the structure of the diversion channel and the multiple use of water were summarized.

Furthermore, among the diversion channels, important points that show the benefits of water and its historical role, and valuable points, were compiled as "Treasures of the city that We want to leave″ a multifaceted form of use.
