Summary
We aimed to estimate conservation value of plant communities in Fuchu city, as an example of the urbanized area along the Tama River. By phytosociological tablation method, 125 plant communities were differentiated from 1874 vegetation stands. Distribution map of each plant community was overlapped to the actual vegetation map of Fuchu city, and the communities included in each legend of vegetation map were revealed. Number of native species, vulnerable species, and species that occurred only in particular community were used for estimation value of plant communities. From these results, plant communities which had high conservation priority and their distribution were shown. The result was published as “Vegetation of Fuchu” with the actual vegetation map and floristic composition table of all plant communities.

As the result of this study, we could unify the data of flora, plant community, and vegetation map to single database of local natural resources.
