Summary

Interferometric synthetic aperture radar enables to map the reginal displacement of land surface and the observed data has started to be used for groundwater/land subsidence model calibration recently. On the other hand, the observed displacement includes all the displacement caused not only by groundwater abstraction but also other crustal motion such as earthquakes, postseismic movement, etc. These components related to deeper crustal motions probably interferes the usual calibration process and even the critically erroneous results will be obtained. In order to overcome this problem, the author developed a new calibration process that minimizes the spatiotemporal complexity of the difference between the calculated and observed displacement. Results of a numerical experiment suggested that the proposed method can work out for the data including the regional crustal motion.
