Summary

The cool air blow holes in algific talus slopes are known in the various sites in Japan. Natural cold storage for sericulture in algific talus slopes were used around the upper reaches of the Tama-river from 19c. to 20c. The authors observed ground temperature and air temperature 2014 to 2015 near the remains of cold storages. In addition, authors investigated the natural environments such as the landforms of the algific slopes, a geology, the composition of a rock and around the vegetation.

Natural cold storage for sericulture from 19c to 20c attracts attention as an industrial heritage in Japan. Authors suggest to a village office to appoint such natural cold storage in the upper reaches of the Tama-river to natural monument, cultural property and geo-site in the geopark. And authors plan tourism to inspect the remains of the cold storages in this year.
